for Free Materials

This page outlines the terms of use for free materials distributed by HAKU through my X account (@haku___v) and BOOTH.
(*Images published on this HAKU official website, including examples and production works, are not free materials.)

These materials are mainly designed for VTubers and streamers, but they may also be used by the general public.

Please note that the copyright of these materials is not waived.

Permitted

*Note: Use of the materials is permitted if it serves as an indirect means of income, such as being used as a background for streams or in thumbnails. (Please be aware that interpretations of this rule may vary among creators. It does not apply universally to all materials available online.)

Prohibited

*Except1: If you wish to use the materials commercially, a separate license agreement is required. Please contact HAKU via X DM or the "Contact Form" with details about your intended use. HAKU will review the request individually and provide usage terms only if the use is deemed appropriate. Without a license agreement or explicit permission from HAKU, commercial use is not allowed, regardless of whether credit is provided.

*Except2: Transferring or gifting works made using the materials to third parties is allowed only when the material explicitly states that it may be used as a return gift or reward.

Those who fail to comply with the terms will be subject to appropriate measures. Thank you for your understanding in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions About HAKU’s Free Materials

Using the Materials

Yes, you can.
Using the materials in thumbnails or as streaming backgrounds for a monetized account is considered an indirect means of income for creators, so it is permitted.
*Please note that interpretations may vary among creators. This rule does not apply universally to all materials available online.

Yes, that is allowed.

No, credit is not required.

However, crediting or introducing HAKU is always greatly appreciated and helps support HAKU's continued activities.

Yes, you can.

Materials obtained while following the terms of use may continue to be used even after distribution has ended.

However, redistribution or transfer to third parties after distribution has ended is not allowed.

Yes, that is fine.

However, if the free material has usage conditions such as following or reposting, those conditions must be met by the account of the streamer or creator who will actually use the material.

Engagement from an editor's or manager's personal account will not be considered valid for meeting those conditions.

This does not apply to paid materials.

Yes, they can.

The materials may be used regardless of whether you are an individual, a company, or affiliated with an agency.

However, depending on the nature of the use, a separate license agreement may be required. If you wish to use the materials commercially or for a special purpose, please contact HAKU in advance.

Commercial Use and Client Work

For example, you may not sell goods made using the distributed materials, or sell the materials themselves. This is also prohibited even if the materials are given away for free.
Distributing thumbnails or other works made with the materials as rewards in monetized streams is also considered commercial use and redistribution, and is not allowed.

This is considered redistribution, so please do not do so.
Only materials explicitly marked on X posts or BOOTH as allowed for return gifts or rewards may be transferred to third parties, and only after being edited into a finished work.
Even for materials marked as allowed for return gifts, the material itself may not be given away as-is.

Unfortunately, client work is not allowed, regardless of whether the material is free or paid.
These materials are provided for your own streaming activities, creative work, and social media posts.

They may not be used in videos, thumbnails, streaming layouts, websites, or other deliverables created for a third party, or in paid projects commissioned by a client.
If you would like to use the materials for client work, please contact HAKU separately.

Editing and Redistribution

Please do not make edits that significantly change the original material, such as heavily cropping vertical streaming materials for horizontal use or cutting out only part of a material to use as a separate asset.
These edits go against HAKU's design intent and may cause confusion or misunderstandings among other users.
Adding text, logos, or similar elements is allowed as long as it does not damage the content or design of the material.

If color adjustment or certain edits are allowed for a specific material, this will be stated on the material page or in the distribution post.

No. Sharing the materials with anyone, even a friend, is considered redistribution and is prohibited.
I truly appreciate your enthusiasm, so please share HAKU's X account instead of sending the materials themselves.

Please purchase the paid version with no conditions attached.
If a paid version is not available, please submit a request or meet the conditions before using the material.
Using free materials without meeting the stated conditions is strictly prohibited.

Other Questions

HAKU distributes these materials for free because I want more people to discover HAKU's work and activities.

Many of the materials were originally made for my own creative and streaming activities, but I decided to share them in the hope that other streamers and creators could also make use of them.
Conditions such as follows and reposts help people discover my work, and in some cases have led to requests for website production or design work.

Works made using these materials have also helped me connect with new streamers and creators, which has expanded HAKU's activities further.
My goal is to support everyone's creative activities while continuing to grow HAKU's own work as well.

AI tools may be used for some materials.
However, most of the materials are original works created by HAKU.

When AI is used, it is mainly as a supporting tool for tasks such as image completion, upscaling, or improving production efficiency.
AI outputs are reviewed, adjusted, and refined by hand before publication, often based on HAKU's own existing works or style explorations.

HAKU does not use other people's illustrations or works as source material.
If AI-generated elements make up a significant part of a material, the material page or distribution post will clearly state that AI was used.

Yes, requests are very welcome.

Please feel free to send them via X DM or Marshmallow.

Your suggestions will be used as reference for future materials.

Please note that I may not be able to fulfill every request.

In the age of social media and streaming archives, usage can be seen more easily than expected, and term violations may be discovered even unintentionally.
For streamers and creators in particular, your activities are public, so even small issues can lead to unexpected trouble or loss of trust.
To keep your activities enjoyable and trouble-free, please use the materials within the terms of use.

If repeated violations or unauthorized use are found, HAKU may reconsider the distribution policy and make some or all materials paid.
If you notice a clear violation, I would appreciate it if you could let me know through the contact form or another appropriate channel.
